My name is Karmin Jenkins and my journey with the Axiogenics Self-Leadership Development Program has been transformative. My goal was to live authentically and consistently from my strengths. I quickly learned, under the guidance of my coach, Dr. Melodye Hilton, that to fulfill this, I needed to become less influenced by biases each day and more driven by my assets. When I started this program, I was completely ruled by my biases. However, the coaching and guidance provided by Dr. Hilton enabled me to experience deep-seated changes in my behavior and mindset, all without feeling guilt or shame. What I really loved about this program was taking the assessment as it allowed me to better understand myself and my past behaviors. It gave me insights into how to coach others and enhanced my interactions with my mental health therapist. In summary, I feel as though I have been reset and realigned in a way that allows me to live as I was truly intended to. If you’re someone seeking to understand the core of your behaviors and the cause-effect relationships in your life, I highly recommend this program. Revamping my perfectionist nature and eliminating hesitation and indecisiveness was challenging; these aspects of my way of doing things had oftentimes prevented me from getting the best net value from a situation. The transition though difficult showed new ways of thinking and approaching matters that proved to be quite rewarding steps on my journey towards improvement.   My coach, Debbie Joseph-Caddle, definitely boosted my sense of confidence in my ability , which in turn allowed me to be more willing to exercise my decision-making in the space. She emphasized the importance of decision-making and accepting occasional failures as being part of the learning process. Under her guidance, I developed the ability to test my ideas and take decisions with confidence, further enhancing my leadership skills. A key takeaway from her tutelage was this: Leadership isn’t about doing everything myself but ensuring things get done, either through my own work or through efficient delegation. One of the more unexpected but welcomed aspects of the program turned out to be having Debbie as a sounding board as well as access to the insightful tools for rethinking problem-solving and leadership practices that the program provides. Reflecting on my journey throughout this program, I would describe it as an enlightening, confidence-boosting experience that provided me with constructive feedback in a secure environment and one that transformed my thought processes.
